Privacy policy.
Last updated: October 1, 2026.
This policy explains what personal data the Lúmina W blog (blog.luminaw.co) processes, what it uses it for, and how you can exercise your rights. It is governed by Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 (Ley 1581 de 2012, the Colombian personal data protection law) and its implementing decrees.
Who is responsible
Lúmina W, based in Medellín, Colombia. You can write to us at contact@luminaw.co or through WhatsApp.
What data we process and why
- Your account: name, username and email. If you use a password, we store only a hash (bcrypt), never the password itself. Optionally, photo, role, bio and links. We use them to create and maintain your account, let you sign in and show your profile.
- If you sign in with Google, GitHub or LinkedIn: we receive your name, your email (already verified by the provider) and your photo. We do not post anything on those services.
- What you publish: posts, comments, likes, saved posts and who you follow. Published posts and comments are public and are shown with your name and username. Drafts and saved posts are not.
- Images you upload: covers, profile photos and images inside your posts.
- Newsletter: the email you leave in the form, so we can send you new posts. You can unsubscribe from the link in each email.
- Service emails: account verification, password reset and notices about replies, followers and saves.
- Technical data: your IP address, which we use temporarily to limit how often actions can be performed (sign-up, sign-in, comments) and to curb abuse.
Cookies
We use the cookies needed for your session to work and to protect sign-in. We do not use advertising cookies. The blog may measure visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify you.
If you accept analytics cookies, we also use Google Analytics to understand what gets read, where visits come from and how many go from the blog to our products. Google Analytics only loads if you accept: with "Essential only" nothing is loaded. Your choice is saved in your browser and you can change it at any time with the "Cookies" link in the footer.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We use providers that process it on our behalf so the blog works:
- Vercel: site hosting.
- Supabase: database and image storage.
- Brevo: sending emails and the newsletter.
- Google (Google Analytics): measuring visits and clicks to our products, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Anthropic: automatic translation of published posts. It receives only the text of the post, not your account data.
- Google, GitHub and LinkedIn: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Fontshare: typefaces; its server receives your IP when they load.
Some of these providers process data outside Colombia. By creating your account or subscribing you authorize that transfer.
Your rights
As the data subject you can, at any time:
- Know, update and correct your data.
- Request proof of the authorization you gave us.
- Learn how we use your data.
- Revoke the authorization and ask us to delete your data.
- File complaints with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC, the Colombian data protection authority) if you believe we breached the law.
Edit your profile and password from your account. For anything else, write to us at contact@luminaw.co from your account email. We answer inquiries within 10 business days at most and claims within 15 business days at most.
How long we keep it
While you have an account or are subscribed. If you ask us to delete it, we delete your account and everything in it: posts, comments, likes, saved posts and images. Our providers’ backups may keep that data for a limited time.
Security
We store passwords as hashes, limit sign-in attempts, lock the account after several failed attempts and close your open sessions when you change or reset your password. No system is infallible; if you find a security problem, write to us.
Minors
The blog is not aimed at minors. If you believe a minor created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will publish the new version here with its update date. The blog’s terms of use are at Terms and conditions.
